Objectives:

  1. The client will understand where the project is now.
  2. The client will feel confident in and reassured about our progress.

Then think about other knowledge the reader must have to "understand where the project is now."

Write that close to the central idea. An example appears in the right half of this page.

You're putting the web of your thoughts into a diagram that will help you think of all the information you need to put into the message and will provide a map for guiding the reader through your message.
